Let's input the data you will be using for Rule 3.

11. Put in the data for $input1 and $input2. Before you change user rule, you have to tell the “Rule 3” that you are sourcing data from “Types” and “Counts.”


Click on $input1 and select “Rule 1: Types.”


Click on $input2 and select “Rule 2: Counts. “


If you click on user rule, you can see that it already contains some simple Perl scripts. At this point, you have not changed the Perl scripts yet, so the data shown below does not make sense at all. However, it gives you an idea of what you are trying to accomplish, corresponding the types of patents with numbers.


Then, the most important part of this rule is to change the user rule , which involves writing a simple Perl script.
